Thoughts on Living the Reiki Precepts

Just for today: Be Honest in Your Work
For this precept, consider giving your major focus to those thoughts, actions, energies that move you closer to what you want to achieve. Please note I’m not saying all your focus. I’m just saying the focus that you put most of your time into during the day.
Take an honest look at where your energy is directed daily. Are you focusing on the mundane, or do you honestly put your focus on work that guides you to your greatest desire?
If your mind is repetitively thinking on the same action items (so your daily life is like the movie, Groundhog Day), then it may be time to take an honest look at what you want. What do you really want to achieve? What is your passion? Seriously, what are you so good at and enjoy doing so much that you’d do it for free every single day?! For me, that's become my #Reiki practice.
Once you have that figured out (easy, right?), then look at your major focus on daily actions. If they aren’t bringing you closer to your main purpose/passion it’s time to let go of those actions as they probably:
1. already served their purpose (or, they simply never had a purpose or a focus, they were just habitual repetitive thoughts/actions)
2. no longer honor who you are today or serve your purpose (this one is important...consider what you focus on that is so much more about who you were, or what you wanted, in the past. You've evolved. #Refocus.)
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
